Portfolio Research Associate

HIP Investor is seeking talented individuals to help us apply our innovative framework and analyze leading companies to create HIP Portfolios available for investors the first offering of its kind. Launched in the Summer 2009, these portfolios include companies from leading indices and compete against traditional investments standards with a focus on sustainable, profitable growth instead of traditional weightings based on market value.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with our team of sustainability experts and to have your research published in HIP Portfolios and gain firsthand experience in analyzing companies and investors driving to sustainability. Change the face of sustainable investing and transforming the world of investments. The internship will include the following responsibilities:

Role

  • Lead research on specific industries and analyze top companies using the innovative HIP methodology
  • Research financial publications, quarterly financial reports, annual reports, corporate social responsibility reports and third party evaluation metrics
  • Create HIP Scorecards(SM) highlighting companies’ Human Impact, management practice and profit results
  • Work with the team to develop weightings for our next products, the HIP 500 Index and a HIP 30 Fund to compete against the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in financial analysis
  • Deep interest in social measurement tools and outcomes
  • Agile to interviews senior executives on  the phone or in person
  • Great team player who can also work independently
  • Commit a minimum of 15 hours a week for a minimum of eight weeks
