“Mr. Herman,

Through this class I have realized one major point that bothers me. Everything focuses on historical data to project at least 10 years into the future. Depending on what industry a company partakes in, valuations can be completely worthless; evidence is all around us with the last financial collapse.

That is why your HIP book was so intriguing to me. It is the only example of valuation that does not rely on historical data completely that I have seen. It seems to be so revolutionary that the academic finance world may not be ready for it. I say that because even though Professor Fullwiler introduced this topic to us, I bet most schools rely on historical data for the entire class.

I hope your incredible philosophy or something very similar is integrated into financial reports just as much as an income statement. Standardization of HIP investing would change everything.
