The HIP 100 Portfolio re-weights the S&P 100 component companies, based on core Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data-driven metrics of 30+ criteria across the following categories:

  • How HIP are the company’s Products and Services?
  • How much Human Impact is quantifiably realized in Operating Metrics?
  • How are HIP Management Practices embedded in decisions?

This mega/large-cap equity portfolio ranks S&P 100 companies depending on their performance using the Human Impact + Profit (HIP) methodology and includes a market-cap factor.  Additional disclosures and assumptions are listed below.

Implementing quantitative-based ratings measuring future risk and pursing higher impact and return, this basket of 100 equities reweights the S&P to more heavily focuses on companies that take a holistic approach to business management for a future economy.

HIP100 GHGs

By reweighting the S&P100 for factors including GHG Emissions, Carbon Reductions, Renewable Energy Usage, Energy Efficiency, Waste Production, and Water Usage as well as Management Practices that embed these metrics into decision-making, accountability and financials, the HIP 100 allocated to more sustainable firms.

GHGs comprise Internal Usage (scope 1), Energy Purchases (scope 2) and Customer Usage (scope 3).

The HIP 100 has an 8% lower Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG intensity than its benchmark (ticker OEF)
